Where It All Began

Every great company starts with a strong partnership. The story of Aditya Shipping began over three decades ago when our founders, Mr. Mukesh Makhijani and Mr. Purandar Kanchan, crossed paths while working at the same shipping company. Over two years of working side-by-side, they realised they shared the same entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to the logistics sector.

In 1996, they took a leap together and established Aditya Shipping — a firm rooted in Fort, Mumbai, at the very heart of India's commercial and maritime world. For the past 30 years, that initial bond of trust and mutual respect has driven our company forward. We have spent three decades successfully navigating the complexities of the shipping world, growing from a shared dream into a trusted and resilient logistics partner.

From our office at Goa Mansion, Dr. Sunderlal Behl Path, Fort, Mumbai — steps away from the city's historic trading hubs and customs houses — we have served hundreds of importers, exporters, and trading companies across India.

With decades of hands-on experience in the Indian freight forwarding and customs clearance industry, Mr. Makhijani brings a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, trade policy, and operational logistics. His relationships with customs authorities, freight carriers, and port officials have been instrumental in establishing Aditya Shipping's reputation for smooth, efficient clearances.

Mr. Purandar Kanchan

Co-Founder

Mr. Kanchan's strength lies in client relationships and trade documentation. His meticulous approach to compliance, duty structures, and documentation management has ensured that Aditya Shipping's clients are always protected — from the first shipping instruction to the final delivery. His direct involvement in day-to-day operations means clients receive senior-level attention on every shipment.

The Partnership Formed

Mr. Makhijani and Mr. Kanchan meet while working at a Mumbai-based shipping company, establishing their core partnership values.

1996

Aditya Shipping Established

Official licensing and company incorporation in Fort, Mumbai. Initial operations focused on textile and engineering imports.

Early 2000s

Air Cargo Expansion

Service expansion to handle air cargo clearances at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport's Sahar Cargo Complex.

2005–2010

Sector Diversification

Built a robust client base in chemical, pharmaceutical, and retail sectors, strengthening compliance documentation systems.

2010–2015

Digital Customs Adaptations

Upgraded systems for paperless ICEGATE declarations and trained our staff on digital pre-filings and duty assessments.

2016–2020

Integrated Trade Advisory

Incorporated full DGFT consultancies and tax scheme advising, providing support on Advance Authorizations and RODTEP.
